Some technical details
CB
This frequency block contains 80 channels, divided into two blocks of 40 channels each. Channels 1 to 40 are harmonized throughout Europe, 41 to 80 are for use in Germany only. Bandwidth is 10 KHz maximum, for output power and modulation see the table. Power for AM is carrier, for SSB PEP. When using an directional antenna with horizontal polarisation and some gain, the maximum power is the antenna feeding power, but the EIRP must not exceed 10 watts then.
It is important that near the borders the channels 41 - 80 must not be used! For a list of the affected areas please have a look at the end of the official CB document of the regulation authority.
Please note the irregularities in the first block - no typos, there are really some gaps, and some channels in "wrong frequency order" :-)
PMR 149 / Freenet
This frequency block contains six channels. It is only allowed to use radios with internal antennas, that means, only an antenna directly attached to the radio is possible - no mag mount, no external antenna. No further regulations regarding the used modulation, just the maximum ERP of 0.5W and the bandwidth of up to 12.5 KHz has to be observed.
PMR 446
This frequency block contains eight channels.
DMR 446
Channel scheme for 12.5 KHz bandwidth. This frequency block contains eight channels. This frequency blocks intention is digital voice, but the regualations are not very clear in this point. So also analog FM should be covered. Maximum allowed time for one transmission is 180 seconds.
Channel scheme for 6.25 KHz bandwidth. This frequency block contains sixteen channels. It is only allowed to use radios with internal antennas, that means, only an antenna directly attached to the radio is possible - no mag mount, no external antenna. No further regulations regarding the used modulation, just the maximum ERP of 0.5W and the bandwidth of up to 6.25 KHz has to be observed. This frequency blocks intention is digital voice, but the regualations are not very clear in this point. So also analog FM should be covered. Maximum allowed time for one transmission is 180 seconds.
